Microsoft Will Become The Largest Game Publisher On PlayStation

Today, the US court issued its final decision to reject the lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Authority to try to prevent Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Thus, the acquisition process between the two parties becomes officially enforceable. This means that Microsoft has now become the official publisher of Activision Blizzard titles. Stephen Totilo indicated via a tweet on his official Twitter account that last year saw Call of Duty Modern Warfare II top the list of the most downloaded games on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and Minecraft was also the third. The most downloaded game and all of these games are published by Microsoft, which after the completion of the deal, will become the largest game publisher on the PlayStation platform, or at least will compete for the lead:

In 2022, the most downloaded PS5 game in the U.S. was Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. The most downloaded PS4 game was also MWII. The third most-downloaded PS4 game? Minecraft.

Microsoft is now on the verge of becoming PlayStation’s most important third-party.
